Not everything that comes out of Sweden is midnight sun or endless wintry night. Sometimes, Sweden is a treasure box laden with sweet musical gems like the revelation that is Sirena. This particular musical gem wavers between sultry pop and electro rock, sounds that never remain fixated on one mood altogether. Sirena is just that sort of sound.

Lunar Lights is a big sounding track that is bright and uplifting. Muted drums slowly morph into heavy drums with electronic influences (there’s even a bit of trap mixed in with the rock bits). And together they all mean an equally gentle and edgy brand of pop that befits her sweet young voice. The 22 year old former Barcelona music student and Stockholm resident coos about being alive

Cuz I’m longing for the lunar lights

…And I’m alive in the moment that we crystalize

And alive is quite the buzz word to give this throbbing, pulsing track. It’s a fun thumper you can expect to hear beating through the speakers of your car or even at the club. Swedish producer Kretsen Sikow renders it irresistibly magic. And in Sirena’s capable hands as singer-songwriter, it even glows.

Lunar Lights is out now everywhere available for download.
